I was born
and raised in St. Louis. I first touched clay my senior year of high
school and was immediately drawn in. Not quite sure of my path, I
enrolled at St. Louis Community College at Meramec where I studied
ceramics with Bob Allen. At this point I was hooked, and started my
journey to become a professional
artist.
This path led me to
the
Appalachian Center for Craft in Smithville,
TN to study under
Vince Pitelka. It was at the Craft Center
where I developed my love and knowledge of atmospheric firing (wood,
salt, and soda). After receiving my BFA, I have been juried into
fine craft shows, I have been in numerous national juried
exhibitions, and I have had work published in Lark book’s
500
Cups. My days are currently filled with applying to the next
show, making pots, and playing with the dogs and enjoying life.
